What We Believe

1. We believe in the equality and distinct personality of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Ghost, in the oneness of the Godhead.

2. We believe in the deity, sovereignty, virgin birth, and the bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ. We also believe that the next event to be fulfilled in scripture is the bodily return of our Lord Jesus Christ.

3. We believe that the Bible is the divine, inspired, complete word of God, complete in 66 books, and that it is our only authority in matters of faith and practice.

4. We believe that man was created in the image of God and man fell from his state of righteousness in the fall of Adam as a universal head of the human race. As a result of the fall, all men are sinners by nature and are under the just condemnation of God.

5. We believe in the necessity of the new birth through the cleansing power of the blood of Jesus Christ by His sacrifice making the new birth a free gift of God. We believe that the new birth is accomplished by the Holy Spirit, through repentance and faith alone, and that obedience is the product of salvation.

6. We believe in the special and complete redemption of the family of God, by grace, through faith, unto good works, and in the blood of Christ alone, by the virtue of His vicarious suffering and sacrificial death on the cross.

7. We believe that sanctification by the direct agency of the Holy Ghost is both instantaneous and progressive.

8. We believe in the justification of the ungodly by grace through the imputed righteousness of our Lord Jesus Christ which is unto all them that believe.

9. We believe in the bodily resurrection of the dead and the judgment of all mankind, the wicked driven away in their punishment, but the righteous received into eternal life.

10. We believe in the absolute necessity of a Holy life in conformity to the life of Christ as the result of faith, and the evidence of the new birth.

11. We believe that the great commission of our Lord Jesus Christ given to His disciples makes it necessary on the part of each believer to see that the Gospel goes forth to the entire world and to every creature until the Lord Jesus Christ returns for His Saints. Each believer is to Go, Give, and Pray!

12. We believe in the observance of the only ordinances of the Lord Jesus Christ namely: Baptism and the Lords Supper. - Christian Baptism is an ordinance of Jesus Christ and consists of the immersion of a believer in water in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost. (Matt 3 :13-17; Matthew 28: 19; Acts 8: 38) - The Lord’s Supper is an ordinance of the Lord Jesus Christ and is to be observed by all born again believers upon examination of their own life in the sight of God.

13. We believe that this Church is fully independent of any associations, council, or any other church, but depends for its acts on the Lord Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit, and the Word of God alone.

14. We believe the principles of church government are universal and the scriptural formula for oversight and governance of the local church is relevant in every culture. The order of H.I.S. Church government is Elder governed, Senior Pastor lead, staff and volunteer run, and congregation owned. H.I.S. Church is committed to building a biblical foundation for church government. Spiritual life is produced when church government and theological correctness are combined with biblical preaching that proclaims the authority of God’s Word and the presence of the Holy Spirit.

15. We believe in the observance of the first day of the week; that it should be observed by abstaining from secular employment and occupied in the public and private worship of God and in works of necessity and mercy.

16. We believe that one male and one female, so created at conception and delivered at birth, defines gender and the joining in holy matrimony, is an act of worship unto God our Creator, by giving trust and obedience to the truths of Gods Holy Word. Covenanted marriage, established by God and instituted through Adam and Eve, is foundational to a healthy society, and true human behavior. It is also an example of the eternal relationship between Jesus Christ God the Son, and His bride, the Church.
